ABOUT

THEN.....

Keith and Marg Hendy started Hendy Transport in the early 70s with one ‘butter box’ Acco carting sheep to the Donald Abattoir. When the abattoir folded they did a bit of interstate work carting tiles to Adelaide.

In the early 80s they purchased their first tipper. They also purchased 2 "International"  trucks, & started carting live poultry.

In the late 80s, the purchase of an existing business helped them to expand into general small freight. They bought their first refrigerated truck soon after and carted offal to Wodonga overnight.

The early 90s, with Troy returning to the business, saw the company really begin to grow.

The purchase of another transport company, was the beginning of carting to local IGA supermarkets, while still carting general freight in and out of Melbourne. The purchase of tankers & tippers began the carting of bulk stockfeed & grain.

The turn of the century saw further growth, & Rob joining the business, & was the beginning of intensively moving bulk stockfeed and grain throughout Victoria.

In 2014 Hendy Transport purchased a double set of Jinker logging trailers to cart logs out of the south west of the state. This saw Troy and Rob branch out (no pun intended) and further diversify the business.

Hendy Transport pioneered the roadtrain in Victoria, by purchasing & running roadtrains in 2017. Paving the way for other Victorian transport companies.

2018 saw the company expand, with the purchase of a Corowa based transport business, allowing Hendy Transport to further expand its existing services in North Eastern Victoria, & the N.S.W Riverina.

By 2020, the Corowa based operations had tripled in size, prompting the purchase of more prime movers & trailers.

The company also purchased 4 container Skel trailers, & commenced 4 daily roadtrain deliveries of hay to the Melbourne ports.

AND NOW.....

Troy leads the company from the front, & covers all aspects of the business from administration, truck driving to turning the tools ( Troy is a qualified diesel mechanic ). He never expects an employee to do anything he doesn't do himself. While Rob heads our dynamic administration team. With a degree in Logistics Management, he brings vital skills to the business.

Now servicing Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales, & Queensland, over the span of five decades Hendy Transport has continued to grow its modern fleet of Kenworth trucks, and trailers, both singles B-Doubles, & Roadtrains. From Humble beginnings, Hendy Transport has grown substantially, & now has a workforce of over 50 employees.
